Let's begin practicing our ability to recognize notes on a staff using the treble clef. In the exercise below (from our friends at musictheory.net) you will be asked to identify the pitch class of the note you see in the activity window. Incorrect responses will be highlighted in red. Correct responses will be highlighted in green, and you will hear the sound of that specific pitch before moving to another example.

It's often best to practice for shorter amounts of time, more frequently. This allows you to gain great familiarity with a subject, without getting tired or "burnt out." Work through this exercise until you feel comfortable identifying pitch classes on this staff, or until you have been working for five (5) minutes.

Feel free to return to this exercise at anytime throughout the course if you would like extra practice. Remember, the more time you spend "playing" with the material the more comfortable and confident you will feel when looking at music "in the wild!"
